About

I am a Peruvian and Italian American filmmaker, photographer, and visual artist based in Maryland, working between the DMV and Baltimore. Born in Laurel, MD, and raised in Columbia, MD, I grew up immersed in creativity as a means of expression, reflection, and survival. Drawing was my first language, carrying me through childhood and high school, until photography and film expanded my understanding of storytelling shortly after. Movies and television became both refuge and inspiration, shaping my imagination and the way I learned to see the world. Something just clicked, and I knew that was what I wanted to do.

I was raised by a single mother with the support of my grandmother, and later experienced life within blended family structures through stepfathers. These personal dynamics deeply informed my understanding of family, resilience, and identity. Growing up in an immigrant, multicultural household, I often felt caught between worlds. An experience shared by many Latin American and first-generation children. This sense of duality continues to drive my work. Through my films and projects, I aim to highlight these lived realities within the United States while also challenging the notion that America is the inevitable “end game.” Fulfillment, I believe, is not bound to a single place but comes from self-understanding and purpose.

At the core of my practice is a commitment to vulnerability, authenticity, and community care. I feel a deep responsibility to uplift and guide young people, particularly youth of color, by demonstrating that their differences are not limitations but sources of power. These are lessons I had to discover without the benefit of consistent mentorship, and they now inform both my creative and professional life.
I graduated from the University of Maryland (UMD) in 2023 with a double major in Graphic Design and Film Studies, where I developed a strong foundation in visual communication and media analysis. I am currently pursuing my MFA in Filmmaking at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), further dedicating my practice to storytelling as a tool for representation, dialogue, and social impact.

Alongside my academic work, I co-founded Heavy Feather Productions, a minority-owned production company built on the belief that meaningful stories, especially those from underrepresented voices, have the power to strengthen communities. Though small in size, our team’s heart, vision, and commitment are expansive. In just our first year, we have produced work ranging from community theater collaborations and independent films to professional headshots and event coverage, learning through hands-on experience and growth.

The journey has not been easy. Balancing full-time graduate study with sustaining a business has required constant adaptation, financial sacrifice, and self-belief. I have navigated doubt, instability, and burnout, often working multiple jobs at once to stay afloat. Still, every small success affirms that this path is meaningful and aligned with who I am. Belief in oneself is non-negotiable, and when grounded in purpose, it becomes the anchor that carries you forward.
